To create a forum for parents and teachers, to share information, and to actively contribute to the school calendar, for the benefit of the children.
We are a Registered Charitable Trust with an authorised purpose:
To provide an effective communication link between the students, parents/caregivers, principal, teachers and the School Board of Trustees.
To support the school through fundraising, to improve facilities and opportunities, including, educational, social, cultural and sporting activities.
The PTA are a group of parents and a staff representative who are responsible for the fundraising activities and community events which make our school a focus of the Tauwhare Community.
Please consider coming along to a meeting or getting in touch with the PTA as we appreciate any support from our school families.
The AGM is held at the beginning of each school year and we hold two meetings a term. Meeting dates are advised in the school newsletter, the Hero app and on social media.
At each meeting the selected staff member or Principal gives a report on the curriculum and other school news. Other updates and information can also be found on our PTA facebook page - Friends of Tauwhare School

2025 fundraising contributes towards:
The 2026 Year 5/6 camp
Classroom donations.
Year Six leavers book.
Ice block treats after events.
School field trips.
Our long term goal is to heat the school swimming pool to extend the children's swim season. In a country surrounded by water it is crucial that children learn to swim. By putting heating in place, we will be able to increase our swim season and have our pool open for the entire of Terms 1 and 4. This resulting in a more positive and focused water experience for the children.
