There is not much I wouldn’t do for Tauwhare School, but this may be going too far even for me!!
I have been challenged to represent Tauwhare in a Principals’ Challenge at the Huntly Speedway next Saturday night (18th February). I will need your support though, lots of cheering from the side line and the odd ambulance standing by. I have asked if I can wear my heels and naturally I’ll need to drive an automatic. I’m not too keen on my chances though.
There are 4 heats in the Principal's race plus many other races on the night.
Bring the family along for some great entertainment, thrills and spills. Students will be able to make flags or signs showing their support for their school and principal.
Best banner and most represented school will win $1000 for the school.
Also I am trying to get the stock car here for a school assembly, so watch this space…..
In 2011 four of our students attended the Kids Teaching Kids Conference in Adelaide, with four students from Puahue School. When they returned they presented at the Waikato Museum which was videoed in segments. Click on the links below to view their wonderful work on Healthy Streams.
If your child is in Year 4 and 5 (rooms 1, 2,3) you will receive 10 raffle tickets this week to sell as our last camp fundraiser for this year. The Jones family (Scanlon & Jones & the Beauty House) have donated a lovely stainless steel artwork marlin (on display in the office) a citronella firepot (in Room 1) and a $30 beauty voucher as prizes. The tickets are $1 each and can be bought from a student or from the office. The tickets need to be returned to school by Friday 9 December and will be drawn at the End of Year Prizegiving. If you would like more tickets or would like to take some to your workplace please see Ms Quinn in Room 1.
