Dear Parents/Caregivers Re: UNSW Competitions for Y4-6 pupils We are offering the opportunity to participate in the University of New South Wales ICAS Schools Competitions this year. These are tests which are sat in various subjects by thousands of children in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. If you would like your child to take part please complete the slip below and send the entry fee to school, please make cheques payable to Tauwhare School and send in a named envelope to Room 1 by Monday 2 April.

On Thursday all the children donned Red Noses to join in singing You Make the Whole World Smile which is the signature song for Red Nose Day raising funds for Cure Kids Charity. The Cambridge Edition were present so keep your eyes out for some lovely photos in the paper. Tori read a delightful poem and Puhangawai sang then the school made us all smile with singers, guitarists, recorders and drummers all joining in.
On Friday Ms Wrigg and room 5 entertained the school at assembly by showing us everything thay had been learning in the Kapa Haka group inour rotation time.
A big congratulations to all the children who took part in the Matangi Swimming Sports on Monday the 7th March 2011. All the children tried there best and we had some excellent results. William Sinclair was unbeatable all day and looked like Michael Phelps in the pool, he is definitely one to look out for in the future.
On Friday the 18th of February 2011 Tauwhare School held their annual swimming sports at the Morrinsville pool. There was an excellent turn out of parents and children and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. Our championship race was taken out by William Sinclair, 2nd was Jacob McWhannell and 3rd was Jessica Aldred. Congratulations to all the children who participated in the races.
